Agnes Theresa Resop

October 28, 1933 - September 25, 2011

Agnes “Aggie” T. Resop, age 77, of Horicon, died on Sunday, September 25, 2011 at UW Hospital in Madison.

The visitation will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Horicon on Thursday, September 29, 2011 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a Rosary service at 7:45 PM. There will also be a visitation at the church on Friday, September 30, 2011 from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at the church on Friday at 11:00 AM with Fr. Mike Petrie officiating. Burial will be at St. Malachy Cemetery in Horicon.

The former Agnes Theresa Burk was born on October 28, 1933 in Fox Lake, Wisconsin to Dennis and Catherine (Leahy) Burk. On May 7, 1955 she was united in marriage with Clarence Resop at Our Lady of the Lake in Green Lake. Aggie was a devoted mother to her nine children and devoted to her faith. She was a member of St. Henry”s Catholic Church in Watertown from 1959 until 1969 when the family moved to Horicon. Aggie was heavily involved with Sacred Heart Catholic Parish, coordinating funeral luncheons and any food event at the parish. She was also a member of the Christian Mothers and Rosary Makers.

Survivors are her husband, Clarence of Horicon; children, Cindy (Jeff) Schlatter of Watertown, Diane (Keith) Thomas of Avondale, PA, Duane (Cheryl) Resop of Las Vegas, NV, Debbie (Bob) Schaefer of Muskego, Keith (Denise) Resop of West Bend, Jeff (Laura) Resop of Horicon, Steve (Linda) Resop of Dassel, MN, Patty (Chip) Dykstra of Rice Lake, and Kit (Amy) Resop of Queen Creek, AZ; grandchildren, Theresa (fiancAC., Adam), Matt (Rachel), Brian, Kevin, Tim; Analise, Alec; Emilee; Zach, Becca, Ben; Nathan (fiancAC.e, Brooke); Ashley, Lindsay, Parker, Michaela, Seth; Evelyn, Sam, Jackson; and Abby; great grandchildren, Ryan and Allyson, brothers and sisters, Patrick Burk, Delores (Dee) Lynch, Dennis Burk, John Burk, Mike Burk, Mary Campion, and Bill Burk, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Monica Curtis, and Katie Williams, and brother, Terry Burk.

The family suggests that memorials be made in Agnes T. Resop”s name to Sacred Heart Catholic Parish, PO Box 27, Horicon, WI 53032.

clarence and the Resop family-----there are no words that can convey our condolences to each of you. each of us HAS ONLY one Mother and from the few opportunitIES I have had to watch the entire family at different sporting and social events, it was evident that you treated your Mother very well and WITH A GREAT deal of respect.
