The former Alice Jane Sadoski was born on January 28, 1928 in the Town of Westford, Dodge County, Wisconsin, to Andrew and Anna (Hopp) Sadoski. On September 29, 1949 she was united in marriage with Paul J. Ebert at St. Michael”s Catholic Church in Beaver Dam. Together, they farmed in the Town of Westford until Paul”s retirement in 1989. She raised chickens and would deliver eggs to her customers which earned her the title of “egg lady”. After retirement, they would take vacations as often as possible, traveling to Myrtle Beach and Vegas. Alice enjoyed time spent with family and friends; she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. She liked gardening, reading and writing, baking, and spending time with her loyal pup. Alice would travel often with Kim”s Tours and enjoyed getting together with friends once a month to play cards. She was a life-long member of St. Michael”s Catholic Church and was a member of the St. Michael”s Rosary Society. She also belonged to the Merry Mrs. Club. Alice was a very caring, loving, thoughtful person with a very strong work ethic. She could always find the strength to make it through the difficulties that life gave her and that trait is what carries on through her family.
Alice is survived by her son, Tony Ebert of Beaver Dam; daughter, Rita (Greg) Belling of Fond du Lac; eight Grandchildren, Anna, Denny, Lora, Rebekah, Emily, Erin, Elyssa, and Erica; daughter-in-law, Nancy Shoup; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, in 2008, and son, John in 1984.
The family would like to thank their wonderful neighbors, friends and relatives for all of their help and kindness over the years. Also, thank you to the staff at Beaver Dam Community Hospital and UW Madison Hospital. They would like to extend a special thank you to Hillside Hospice and Vita Park Eye Clinic, especially Dr. Thomas Costillo. Your care gave Alice a better quality of life and for that, they are grateful.
If desired, memorials may be made in Alice J. Ebert”s name to Hillside Hospice/Homecare, 709 S. University Ave., Beaver Dam, WI 53916.
