Arlene C. Buhalog, age 92, of Horicon Wisconsin died quietly Sunday, July 2, 2017 in Juneau WI at the Clearview Nursing Home.A memorial gathering will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Horicon on Monday, July 10, 2017 from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. The Rev. Fr. Mike Petrie will officiate. Inurnment will take place at St. Malachy’s Catholic Cemetery in Horicon.Arlene was born on November 8, 1924 in the town of Clyman Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Martin and Esther Sielaff (Rupprecht). She was united in marriage to Arthur Buhalog, the love of her life, at St. Malachy’s Catholic Church in Horicon, Wisconsin on March 2,1946.Arlene was a Horicon High School graduate who spent most of her young adult life as a loving wife and mother of ten children. She also worked at Curry’s Food Store and helped her life long friend Norma Macheel with her catering business. Arlene and Arthur moved to Florida in 1985 where they enjoyed nineteen years of retirement and often entertained family and friends. Arlene returned to Horicon following the death of Arthur in 2004.Arlene was truly a courageous women who survived breast cancer and fought through the frustration of a debilitating stroke. Arlene showed genuine joy anytime she was in the presence of children and was so proud of her family. She will be remembered as a loving woman who was skilled at running a home. She was amazing in the kitchen and provided love to many through her delicious meals and desserts. The family wants to thank Janell and the staff at Marvin’s Manor of Horicon for twelve years of excellent care for Arlene and for treating her like a family member.Survivors include ten children, David Buhalog of Horicon, Ann Feucht of Bradenton, Florida, Daniel(Karen)Buhalog of Adams-Friendship, Michael (Diane) Buhalog of McFarland, Richard(Donna) Buhalog of Adam-Friendship, Greg (Deb) Buhalog of Horicon, Mary (James) Griffiths of New Berlin, Ellen Mueller of Milwaukee , Arthur J (Lisa) Buhalog of Beaver Dam and Teresa Huck of Beaver Dam; 24 grandchildren and 26 great grand children, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Esther Sielaff, her step-father Erwin Ebert, her sister Cora (Hurst) and her husband Arthur Buhalog.
