Arline A. Handrow, age 90, formerly of Horicon, passed away Monday, May 13, 2013 at the Aurora Medical Center in Hartford.
Visitation for Arline will be at the Murray Funeral Home, 716 Clinton Street in Horicon, on Thursday, May 16, 2013 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home on Thursday, beginning at 1:00 PM. Rev. Mark A. Wenzel will officiate. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Horicon.
Arline Adeline Metscher was born on March 23, 1923 in Manitowoc, Wisconsin to the late Oscar and Olga (Schlichting) Metscher. On August 21, 1943, she was united in marriage with Edward Handrow in Sheboygan. She worked at Oscar Mayer in Madison and Chrysler Outboard in Hartford. Arline was an accomplished homemaker who enjoyed gardening, sewing, and quilting. She loved to dance and was an avid Milwaukee Bucks fan.
Survivors include her four sons, Richard Handrow of Vesper, John (June) Handrow of Hartford, Allan (Michelle) Handrow of Burnett, and Karl (Carrie) Handrow of Anaheim, CA; five grandchildren, Justin (Elizabeth) Handrow of Grafton, Michael (Dana) Handrow of Kenosha, Jayme (Jeremy) Schwoch of Horicon, Tanya (Tony) Kufalk of Burnett, and Nathan Handrow of Wautoma; six great grandchildren, Janessa, Dylan, Shawne, Kayelee, Nicholas, and Ashlynn Carol; four brothers and sisters, Raymond Metscher of Pembine, Marvin (Joan) Metscher of Sheboygan, Marion (Edward) Soch of Newald, and Sharon (Grant) Mattes of Sheboygan; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Arline was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2010; two daughters, Sue and Carol; two sisters and two brother, Elnora Haack, Harold Metscher, LaVerne Bokunevitz, and Vernon Metscher.
The family suggests that memorials be made in Arline Handrow”s name to Special Olympics, ARC of Dodge County, or Peace Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.
