Arnold Desjarlais, age 78, of Beaver Dam, died on Friday, August 24, 2012 at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam.
A gathering will take place at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 511 S. Spring St., in Beaver Dam on Friday, August 31, 2012 from 10:30 AM until 11:15 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at the church on Friday at 11:30 AM with Fr. Michael Erwin officiating. Inurnment with be at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam.
Arnold Desjarlais was born on December 21, 1933 in Dagget, Michigan to Clifford and Mary (Burie) Desjarlais. On May 23, 1953 he was united in marriage with Virginia Bruder at St. Patrick”s Catholic Church. Arnold worked at Weyenberg shoe factory for 22 years and then as a mechanic for Green Giant for 12 years. He was a Jack of all trades and was always willing to lend a hand. His passions included hunting and fishing. Arnold also loved spending time at his cabin.
Survivors are his wife, Virginia of Beaver Dam; three brothers, Delbert “Leo” of Columbus, William of Marinette, and Ralph (Jean) of Beaver Dam; two sisters, Arlene Webb of Menomonie, MI, and Faye (Harry) Westover of Coloma; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Clifford, Larry, Jerry and Terry.
The family thanks Hillside Hospice and good friends, Ray and Bonnie Murray for all of the care that they gave to Arnie.
