Arthur J. Krapfl, age 83, of LeRoy passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 12 noon at St. Andrew Catholic Church in LeRoy with the Rev. Fr. Tom Biersack presiding. A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at noon. Burial will take place at St. Andrew Cemetery with military honors presented by the Bintzler-Waehler American Legion Post #347.Art was born the son of Arthur P. and Marie (Hoffmann) Krapfl on March 24, 1934. He was a veteran of the US Army. Art was united in marriage to Margaret Detweiler on October 7, 1961 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Fond du Lac. He worked his whole life with his hands as a bricklayer with Masons Local 8. Art was also a skilled woodworker and even after retirement continued to build various things for many people. He designed and built many of the homes found in the LeRoy community, mostly on Krapfl Road. Family and faith were important to Art and Marge, and this is shown proudly in the nine children that they raised and their individual families.Art was a faithful member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in LeRoy. Arthur is survived by his wife, Margaret, of LeRoy. His children: Jodi Roberts of Johnson Creek, Joe (Tricia) Harrington of Greenwood, Jill (Darris) Wasmund of Horicon, David ‘Crock’ (Dottie ‘Deter’ Andaloro) Krapfl of Kewaskum, Becky Krapfl of North Fond du Lac, Kristi (Tim) Brewer of Brookfield, IL, Bill (Janell) Krapfl of LeRoy, Matt (Jaime) Krapfl of LeRoy, and Maria (Joe) Allen of Mayville. His grandchildren: Maya Roberts, Seth Roberts, Jared Krapfl, Dakotah Krapfl, Trevor Krapfl, Nicole Wasmund, Andrew Wasmund, Ryan Krapfl, Zach Krapfl, Jake Krapfl, Libby Krapfl, Michael Krapfl, Carlos Krapfl, Sam Ryan, Kaden Krapfl, Sawyer Krapfl, Abbygail Krapfl, Owen Krapfl, Maddison Ohm, Reegan Allen, and Tenley Allen. His great grandchildren: Jacoby and Leon. His sisters Betty Bauer of LeRoy and Marie Schraufnagel of LeRoy. His sisters-in-law Mary Kuitert of Fond du Lac, Jeanne Detweiler of Fond du Lac, and Mary Krapfl-Hoffmann of LeRoy. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.He is preceded in death by his parents, mother and father in-law William and Mary Detweiler, and siblings: Margaret Schraufnagel, Alice Bauer, Helen Weinberger, and John Krapfl. Sisters-in-law Hazel Petrie and Donna Blalock.
