Audrey was born in Milwaukee to Robert and Florence (Handke) Sine on May 16, 1929. After graduating from high school, she worked for the Milwaukee Water Department until she married Quentin Ade. He preceded Audrey in death. She then helped run the bar that her husband”s father had owned. After selling that business, she was employed at A&P as the head bookkeeper. Audrey then went to Sentry Foods as head bookkeeper, where she worked for 25 years. That is where she met her second husband, Russell Meyers. They married in 1973 and lived happily together until his death in 1975. In 1980, she bought a bar in Milwaukee (The Ade Station) and her sons ran that while she worked at Sentry Foods.
At the age of 55, Audrey and her two sons decided to look for a bigger place. She wanted it to be family oriented and serve good food. After searching everything available, they chose Twin Shores on Fox Lake. She went from county to county to find someone who would give her a loan. After a lot of footwork and persistence, she did just that. She and her boys worked long hours growing the business, which also included rental cottages. At the same time she was raising the son of her grandson, whom she also raised. Both of them also worked at the restaurant. At the age of 78, Audrey retired and Twin Shores was sold in 2007.
She made the best homemade pot pies, plus wonderful desserts. She was a woman who wasn”t afraid of work and she did it very well. Audrey was an avid reader, loved to watch nature, cook, work in her yard with her flowers and plants, and loved animals, which she always had around her.
Audrey will be missed and lovingly remembered by children, Quinn Ade and Kevin and Ginny Ade, all of Fox Lake; her sisters, Barbara Hewett and Charlott Schulz, both of Tomahawk; her sister-in-law, Kay (Doug) Sine of Milwaukee; her grandson, Matt Ade (Jenny) of Brookfield; her granddaughters, Danielle and Mandy of Milwaukee; her great grandson, Josh Ade; other grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends she made throughout her life. Audrey was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; Quentin Ade and Russell Meyers; her daughter, Sandy Morrical; her grandchildren, Brad and Megan; her brother, Doug Sine; and her nephew, Patrick DeVorse.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Audrey”s name to the Dodge County Humane Society, N6839 Hwy 26, Juneau, WI 53039.
