Aura A. Petke

Aura A. Petke, 98, of Columbus passed away on Monday, February 12, 2018 at the Columbus Nursing and Rehab. Center.Aura was born the daughter of David and Emma (DeWitt) Harper on December 29, 1919 in Georgetown, Indiana. She was married to Otto Paul Petke on January 23, 1943. Aura, along with her husband, owned and operated Otto’s Bakery and the Pirate’s Den in Waterloo for many years. She was a former member of St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Waterloo. Aura is survived by her daughter, Susan (Roman) Kohler of Westminster, Colorado; her grandson, George Marshall of Watertown, South Dakota; her daughter-in-law, Roberta Petke of Norfolk, Nebraska; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Otto in 1979; her sons: Paul and Phillip; and her brothers and sisters.Inurnment will take place at Medina Cemetery in Marshall, WI in the spring.
