Banitta “Tootie” J. Walters, 85 years old, passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, April 29th at 1:00 p.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church in LeRoy, with the Rev. Father Tom Biersack celebrating the Mass. A visitation will be held on Friday, April 29th from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church. Burial will take place at St. Paul Cemetery in the township of Theresa.Banitta Josephine Walters was born to Alvin and Leona Lehner on February 9, 1931 in the township of LeRoy. She was united in marriage to Gordon V. Walters on May 26, 1951 in LeRoy. Tootie was employed by West Bend Aluminum and Seneca Canning Company, Mayville.Tootie was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in LeRoy. She was also a member of the St. Andrew Christian Women. Banitta loved playing bingo, gardening, crocheting, knitting, and most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren & family.Banitta is survived by her children – Daniel Lee (Marlene) Walters of Beaver Dam and Brenda (Robert) Rose of Waupun; her sisters & brothers Gladys Sternat of Mayville, Wilfred (June) Lehner of Kekoskee, Arlene (Tom) Bobb of Menomonee Falls, & Nyla (Jerry) Gilich of Menomonee Falls; her grandchildren Tyler Rose, Daniel John (Debbie) Walters, Ben (Carrie) Walters, Capt. Matthew (Julia) Walters, Missy Duke, Jessy (Scott) Bucholz, & Stephanie Walters; great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Banitta is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gordon in 1989, her granddaughter Lynn Marie, her sisters & brothers Harold, Caroline, Gilbert “Gibby”, Norbert “Sonny”, Jeanette, Victor, & Lucille.Memorials may be directed to St. Andrew Catholic Church in LeRoy.
