Vi and I were sorry to here of Bernice;s death. she was a very strong woman so it was a surprise. Bernice was always energetic. I had the pleasure of seeing her often at reunions, weddings and funerals. She loved being involved with family and she was so proud of each of her children and how successful each had become from from their humble beginnings. When my father Hubert Gilles, died I was surprised that each of my cousins, some of them which I never met before knew my dad. I am sure Bernice''s family feels the same way. Somehow she connected with everyone in every family and there are a lot of us. She will be missed by all. Clarence

Rick and Randy, So Sorry to hear your Mom passed. Your both in my thoughts as Dawn and I talk often of times when we were all in school. You never lose your Mom. She''s always in your hearts and in your thoughts. That voice you hear when you are making everyday decisions, easy and hard. She is with you in more ways than any of us can comprehend. My prayers will be with you and your family.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Dear Grandma Fitz, My heart breaks at losing such an extremely special woman in my life! As a child you were my camping, polka dancing, rummage shopping, and always there to offer a hug Grandma. I have never met anyone so full of life! As an adult you were my friend who I enjoyed spending time with. Our phone chats and visits were some of my favorite times, and I will miss them dearly. It was always evident in our conversations that you touched many people''s lives from your updates on family and friends. I am SO proud to have called you my Grandma Fitz! I am thankful that God called you home as you always wanted it :)I would give anything to hear your take on Heaven as only you could describe it. Heaven has certainly gained one unbelievably special angel. See you again, Grandma. I LOVE YOU!

I can''t believe this happened, only three days prior to that I was talking with her about going to Aunt Celia''s funeral. She told me she wasn''t feeling well, but I never expected anything like this. She was always so full of life. So easy to talk with and share memories and lots of laughs. She had a great sense of humor. Even though we didn''t get to see her often, she will be greatly missed. She touched so many lives. May you find comfort in the memories you share with family and friends. Love, Jean (Gilles) & Mark Detrie
Dawn Schmidt left a message on March 24, 2012:
With a very heavy heart, I am truly saddened to learn of the passing of Bernice. I have so many fond memories of this remarkable woman dating back to childhood. Her kindness, wisdom, support and love for all was second to none. It''s no wonder that she was known to most as "Ma Fitz". She''s always been there for so many, including my family during our losses. May her family and friends find comfort in knowing that she is loved by so many; lived a full life; and will always be with you. May she R.I.P. and forever shine from the heavens with a smile...so proud of her family! Since I''m in Las Vegas, I won''t be able to attend the service (wished I could). I''m sure it will be beautiful. My thoughts, prayers and hugs go out to all of you. My sincerest sympathies, Dawn Schmidt
