Beaver Dam – Berniece V. Eberle, age 87, went to her eternal rest with the Lord Jesus on Saturday, September 27, 2008.
Friends may call at First Ev. Lutheran Church on Thursday, October 2, 2008 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM. The funeral service for Berniece will follow at the church on Thursday at 4:00 PM with Rev. Mark Jensen officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Town of Beaver Dam, Dodge County, Wisconsin. After the burial, friends and family are invited to the Crystal Creek Dairy House at 6:30 PM for food and fellowship.
The former Berniece Viola Griep was born on July 27, 1921 in the Town of Oak Grove, to Louis and Viola (Zepp) Griep. She taught at the elementary schools in Dodge County from 1941 until 1945. On April 18, 1945, she was united in marriage with Lester R. Eberle at St. Peter”s Ev. Lutheran Church, in Kekoskee. Berniece was the co-owner of Crystal Creek Dairy House from 1952 until 1973. She then was a sales associate for JC Penny in Beaver Dam and in Ft. Myers, Florida from 1975 until 1988. Berniece was a member of the VFW in Beaver Dam and Neshkoro and the American Legion Auxiliary in Beaver Dam. She was also a member of the Dodge County and Marquette County Retired Teachers Association and a member of First Ev. Lutheran Church. Berniece”s life riches include her family, work ethic, community and religious involvement, health and her independence. She truly lived her life to its fullest and we will miss her dearly.
Survivors are her daughters, Karen (David) Maleck, Beaver Dam, and Sandra Worthen, Juneau, grandchildren, Alissa (Chad Rosenow) Hill, Jason (Michael Rosanske) Maleck, Michelle (Michael Haase) Hummelmeier, Jacob (Jenny) Worthen, and Heather (Craig) Ganske, great grandchildren, Kyleagh, Lindsey, Adam, James, Josephina, Justin, Gracie, Craig William, Carter Robert, and Kirsten, brother, LaVern (Arlene) Griep, Fond du Lac, sister-in-law, Janet (Curtis) Bastian, West Bend, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lester, on October 28, 1989, and her brother, Burdet Griep.
The family suggests that memorials be made in Berniece”s name to Hillside Hospice or the First Ev. Lutheran Church Building Fund.
