Carl Fredrick Marks, Jr., age 61, died on Tuesday, May 27, 2008 surrounded by his family.
Visitation for Carl will be at the Murray Funeral Home in Horicon on Friday, May 30, 2008 from 4:30 PM until the time of service. The service for Carl will be at the funeral home on Friday at 7:00 PM with Rev. Jonathan D. Szczesny officiating. Burial will be at South Beaver Dam Cemetery (Leipsic Cemetery) on Saturday, May 31, 2008 at 10:00 AM.
Carl, also known as Uncle Boo by many friends and relatives, was born on December 10, 1946, to Carl and Ruth (Stofflet) Marks, in Beaver Dam. Throughout his high school years, he was a member of the wrestling team and graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1965. He worked for Kirsh Foundry for over ten years, than worked for John Deere Horicon Works. After 28 years of employment, he retired in 2006. Uncle Boo had a passion for trains and spent much of his time building detailed model city settings for his model trains. He also had a large collection of baseball cards. Uncle Boo was a generous and gentle man and will be missed by his family.
He is survived by his brother, Charles (Sue) Marks, Horicon, his niece and nephews, Heather (Joel Nisleit) Marks, Craig (FiancAC.e, Kris Ziegelbauer) Marks, and Christopher (Kelly) Marks, all of Horicon, an uncle, Kelly (Pinky) Stofflet, Columbus, and an aunt, Ruth McFarlane, Beaver Dam, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, aunts, and uncles.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Hansen and the staff at Oconomowoc Hospital and Vitas Innovative Hospice for their care for Uncle Boo.
The family suggests that memorials be made in Carl”s name to the Cancer Center of Oconomowoc Hospital.
