Carol A. Huebel

Carol A. Huebel, age 87, of Reeseville, died on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at Rainbow Hospice in Johnson Creek. The visitation will be at First Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam on Monday, July 23, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. The funeral service will follow at church on Monday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Rick Lund officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam. Carol A. Schliewe was born on November 25, 1930 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to Edward and Ada (Jeche) Schliewe. She was a 1948 graduate of Juneau High School. On August 26, 1950, Carol married Raymond “Bud” Huebel in Beaver Dam. They owned and operated Bud’s Texaco Service in Reeseville from 1956 until 1966. Carol worked as the Dodge County Coordinator and Nutrition Director for more than ten years. She was a pillar to the Village of Reeseville; always helping with community functions and organizations. She was a very active member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #190 of Reeseville. Carol was editor of the Reeseville Review and later was co-editor of the Juneau Independent. She helped with various school related projects, whether it be helping with the music department or even the Girl Scout programs. Carol also loved the outdoors and camping. She was an avid plate collector; but what she loved most was her family and the companionship of her dogs. Carol was a faithful and active member of First Ev. Lutheran Church, where she served as the Parish Secretary for a number of years. She had also been the first organizer of the “On the Go Club” at American National Bank. Carol is survived by her daughter, Mary (Harold) Zuehlke of Reeseville; son, Jeff (Pat) Huebel of Beaver Dam; six grandchildren, Tim (Renea) Zuehlke, Amy (Matt) Paulsen, Heidi (Kim) Nickel, Heather (Fredrik) Stenshamn, Chris (Kerri) Huebel, and Brian (Melissa) Huebel; 12 great grandchildren; sister, Eunice Mueller; half brothers, William Schliewe and Carl Schliewe; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond “Bud” in 2011; and brother, Edward Schliewe, Jr. Memorials may be made in Carol Huebel’s name to First Ev. Lutheran Church.
