Caroline A. Taber, age 96, of Beaver Dam, died on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Golden Living Center-Continental Manor in Randolph.
The Visitation will be at St. Stephen”s Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam on Monday, June 6, 2011 from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM. The funeral service will follow at the church on Monday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Paul Stratman officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam.
The former Caroline Annetta Johnson was born on May 29, 1915 to Oscar Johnson and Marie Rose (Koltze) Johnson-Mullins-Stoup in Inwood, Iowa. She was the salutatorian of her graduating class in Storm Lake. Caroline was united in marriage with Wilber W. Taber on October 21, 1933 in Iowa. She helped her husband build a successful auto dealership, Taber Motors, until his death. Caroline was a member of First Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam, where she taught Sunday school for many years and later in life, a member of St. Stephen”s Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. Caroline was a member of many ladies groups through the years and an avid bridge player. She loved playing card of all kinds. It was a rare occasion to see her without a pair of knitting needles; creating a beautiful sweater or blanket for a family member of friend. One of her favorite things was preparing for large family gatherings and picnics at her home.
Survivors are her daughter, Joell (Rudy) Sennhenn, grandchildren, Gina (Rick) Voelker, Mina (Mark) Kenevan, Lisa Bednaroski, Rudy (Beth) Sennhenn, Jr., Tina (Mark) Schumann, Julie Taber, Christine Taber, Marty Taber, Adam (Emily) Taber, and Prescott Taber, 22 great grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Wian Taber, and great granddaughter, Meghan Powel, brother, Kenneth Johnson, and sister, Genevieve Smith.
The family suggests that memorials be made in Caroline A. Taber”s name to the Dodge County Humane Society, N6839 Hwy 26, Juneau, WI 53039, for her love of animals, especially dogs.
