Charles E. Sell, 85, of Beaver Dam passed away peacefully on Monday, July 16, 2018 at his home. Charles was born the son of Carl H. and Lillian (Backus) Sell on January 23, 1933 in Beaver Dam. He was a 1950 graduate of Juneau High School. He served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Navy where he was stationed on the Aircraft Carrier, the USS Bon Homme Richard. He was married to Marilyn Polzin in 1956. Chuck married Judith A. (nee Hammer) Jensen on March 19, 1988 in Hawaii. Chuck was employed with the U.S. Postal Service in Beaver Dam until his retirement. In his spare time, Chuck enjoyed golf and tennis as well as boating and traveling. He especially loved spending time with his family. Chuck is survived by his wife, Judy of Beaver Dam; his children: Debra Jones of Beaver Dam, Brian Sell of Montello, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Sell of Beaver Dam, Susan (David) Urbaniak of Neenah, and Janice Sell of Beaver Dam; six grandchildren: Joseph Hamilton, Nathaniel Sell, Jamey (Danielle) Fandrich, Samuel Jones, Olivia Sell, and Isaac Sell; three great-grandchildren: Aiden, Owen, and Lillian; his step-daughter, Theresa (Patrick) Jordan; his siblings: June (Don) Linde, Bill (Gloria) Ladwig, Tom Sell, Kathleen Sell, and Bob (Marion) Matasck; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Jacqueline Brumfield. A visitation will be held at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Thursday, July 19, 2018 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. A visitation will also be held at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church on Friday, July 20th from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Rev. Michael Erwin will officiate. Interment will take place at St. Peter Catholic Cemetery in Beaver Dam with military honors conducted by the Beaver Dam American Legion Post #146. Memorials may be directed to St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Hillside Hospice, or the Foundation Fighting Blindness.
