Charlotte D. Elsner, age 88, of Beaver Dam, died at her home on Wednesday, December 14, 2011.
In keeping with her wishes, no formal service will be held and cremation has taken place.
The former Charlotte Dorthea Flege was born on November 4, 1923 in Hamburg, Germany to Hans and Bertha (nee: Mann) Flege. She was united in marriage with Guenther W. Elsner on December 20, 1947 in Hamburg. They had the first of their two daughters in Germany then immigrated to Canada, having their second daughter in Winnipeg. They always wanted to live in the United States and in October of 1958, Guenther was hired for a job in Madison which became home. After Guenther”s death, Charlotte eventually made her home in Beaver Dam.
She will be missed by her daughters, Birgit (George) Spyros of Tampa, FL, and Kirsten (Bill) Manske of Beaver Dam, her “special daughter” Debbie (Jorge) Iglesias, grandchildren and great grandchildren, Paul (Brenda) Spyros and their son, Aiden of Stuyvesant, NY, Jennifer (Erik) Lull and their children, Mason and Silas of Mayville, Ashley Dawson of Beaver Dam, and Amber Manske of San Antonio, TX, a sister-in-law, Gertrude Flege of Hamburg, Germany and a nephew, Peter (Angelika) Flege and their children, Stephanie and Dennis of Hamburg, Germany, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother, Conrad Flege.
