The former Christa Lou Zuhlke was born on July 26, 1953 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to Charles R. and Lois J. (Dobbratz) Zuhlke. She was a 1971 graduate of Horicon High School and then worked at John Deere Horicon Works. On September 21, 1974, Christa was united in marriage with Jon R. She was a Girl Scout Leader, a Cub Scout Den Mother and for about ten years, she ran a child care business out of her home. Church was also very important to her and was involved as a religious education teacher at St. Malachy. Christa worked for several years at Curry Foods and worked at Horicon Bank.
Christa will be missed by her husband Jon of Horicon; children, Nick of Horicon, Monica of Las Vegas, NV, April (Jeremiah) Herrera of Lomira, and Valerie (Steve) Christian of Mayville; four grandchildren, Brayden, Adalyn, Emily, and Clark; father-in-law, Bud Curry of West Bend; brother, Larry (Sherry) Zuhlke of Desoto; in-laws, Lisa (Andrew) Sullivan of Horicon, Ellen (Thomas) Resch of Wawatosa, Richard (Jill) Curry of Horicon, Jill Curry and Jeff Curry, both of Phoenix, AZ; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
