

Clarence A. Schraufnagel, 90 years old, formerly of Mayville, passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2016 at Hope Health and Rehabilitation in Lomira. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 11th at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mayville at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Father Tom Biersack presiding. A visitation will be held on Monday, July 11th from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mayville. Inurnment will take place at St. Mary Cemetery in Mayville, with military rites conducted by the Mayville American Legion Post #69. Clarence was born on September 29, 1925 to Linus and Regula (Oechsner) Schraufnagel, Sr. in the township of LeRoy. He was united in marriage to Aurelia Vollmer on May 8, 1948 at St. Andrew Catholic Church in LeRoy. Clarence was employed at Maysteel of Mayville for 35 years. Clarence was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Mayville. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the South Pacific during WWII from 1943 – 1946. Clarence was also a member of the Mayville American Legion Post #69.Clarence is survived by: his wife Aurelia of 68 years; his children- Steve (Lora) Schraufnagel of Janesville, Stanley (Mary-Alice) Schraufnagel of River Falls, and Karen (Joel) Breselow of Mayville; his 6 grandchildren- Chad (Libby) Schraufnagel, Erin Zimmerman, Nicholas Schraufnagel, Brendan Barbieri, Corrine Schraufnagel, and Daniel Schraufnagel; 2 great-grandchildren- Zach and Noah; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Clarence is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers- Linus, Sr. and Rudy, and 5 sisters- Adeline, Corrine, Mabel, Kathy, and Lenore.Memorials may be directed to: St. Mary Catholic Church in Mayville.
