Clarence Werner, age 91, of Horicon, died on Monday, May 12, 2008 at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam.
The visitation for Clarence will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2008 at St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church in Horicon from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. The funeral service will follow on Thursday at the church at 1:00 PM with Rev. Daniel Seehafer officiating. Burial will be at Oakhill Cemetery in Horicon.
Clarence Albert Elmer Werner was born on January 14, 1917, to August and Bertha (Stohlkoph) Werner, in Horicon, Wisconsin. He grew up in the Horicon area and was a lifelong member of St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church. Clarence worked as a cheesemaker for various cheese manufacturers in the area. He loved gardening and raised his own vegetables and flowers.
Clarence is survived by a brother-in-law, Carl Bernhard of Mayville, many nieces and nephews as well as several friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Raymond and Palmer, and his three sisters, Hilda Werner, Alice Stefan, and Gladys Bernhard.
The family suggests that memorials be made in Clarence”s name to St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church.
