Conrad G. Vande Streek

Conrad G. Vande Streek, age 75, of Fox Lake, went home to meet our Lord on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at UW Hospital in Madison.

Visitation for Conrad will be at Living Hope Community Church,740 W State Street in Fox Lake, on Sunday, March 23, 2014 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. On Monday, March 24, 2014, burial services will be held at Friesland Cemetery beginning at 9:30 AM. Funeral services will follow at Living Hope Community Church in Fox Lake beginning at 11:00 AM; family and friends will gather at the cemetery or church prior to services.

Conrad Gordon Vande Streek was born on September 17, 1938 in Waupun, Wisconsin to the late Arthur and Tena (Aalsma) Vande Streek. He attended Waupun High School and served in the United States Army from 1962 to 1964. On September 16, 1960, he was united in marriage with Nancy Wiersma in Friesland. Conrad loved his grandchildren and tried to attend as many of their sporting events as possible; as a result, if he wasn”t visiting Montana, he was planning the next trip out west. He was a huge Packer fan and followed the Badgers, Brewers and Bucks, also. Conrad worked on farms for many years and enjoyed horses. He also enjoyed taking rides in the car and would often leave with no intended destination and set off just to enjoy the back roads and Nancy”s companionship. Conrad was a member of Living Hope Community Church in Fox Lake.

Survivors include his wife Nancy of Fox Lake; his son, Dean (Gail) Vande Streek of Elkhorn and three step grandchildren, Joel Collins of Burlington, Thomas Collins of Almond, and Katie Collins of Stevens Point; his daughter, Amy (Andre) Vanterpool and two grandchildren, Sage and Dawson, all of Whitefish, Montana; his brother, Bernard “Butch” (Wanda) Vande Streek of Waupun; two sisters-in-law, Marjorie Vande Streek of Waupun and Doris Vande Streek of Beaver Dam; other relatives and friends. Conrad was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Norman and Wilbur Vande Streek.
