Darlyn Joy Pfeiffer

Col. Darlyn J. Pfeiffer, age 61, of Reeseville, died Saturday, November 9, 2013 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

The memorial gathering will be at First United Church of Christ in Reeseville on Saturday, November 16, 2013 from 10:00 AM until 10:50 AM. The memorial service will follow at the church on Saturday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Lois A. Rosko officiating. The gathering will continue after the service where there will be time for food and fellowship at the church hall.

The former Col. Darlyn Joy Smithmier was born on November 15, 1951 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Lawrence A. and LaVerne E. (Buege) Smithmier. On April 7, 1978 she was united in marriage with Steven F. Pfeiffer in Atlanta, Georgia. Darlyn was an antique collector of many things and owned her own auctioneering business, Victorian Lion auction Service,LLC. She was a nationally recognized fancier of Afghan Hounds and cofounder of Funster”s International. Darlyn was also extremely active with many organizations in Reeseville as well as the Dodge County area. She was a long time member of First United Church of Christ in Reeseville. Darlyn”s family was her greatest joy and she earned the title of All Star Grandma.

Survivors are her husband, Steven of Reeseville; sons, Joseph (Vanessa) of Orange, CA, and Stephen (Shelly) of Virginia Beach, VA; grandchildren, Joseph Oliver, Stephen DeLatte, and Madelyn Joy; mother, LaVerne Smithmier of Wauwatosa; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father and granddaughter, Brianna Lynn.

If desired, memorials may be made in Darlyn J. Pfeiffer”s name to First United Church of Christ.

Our deepest sympathy to the Pfeiffer family in the sudden/tragic death of Darlin'' Darlyn. We knew her through some 4-H connections and when Steve and our daughter had their "Day at the Capitol" from being essay contest winners at age 7.We would see her now and then in Reeseville or Beaver Dam. She always had a smile and took time to chat a bit. She even did one of my classroom reading auctions at Wilson School years ago. May God grant you the strength to endure and comfort needed during this difficult time as you trust in Him.

I am very saddened by Darlyn''s passing. She was a great person to know and will be greatly be missed by anyone who knew her. My heart goes out to the family.

Darlyn, You were indeed a Funster. You were a Fountain, not a Drain. We will miss you. R.I.P.

Darlyn was a cousin of mine I have not seen her for many years, but wad glad to get to know her better through facebook. Our prayers and thoughts are with your family at this time.

So Sorry for your loss. Darlyn will be missed by so many in the dog world as well as in 4H where she was a wonderful judge to many youth exhibitors. My daughter so enjoyed talking with her and showing dogs to her. I will miss talking with her too. She was such a wonderful person.

I had enjoyed communicating with Darlyn on facebook and seeing her beautiful family and dogs. As a child,all of the cousins had so much fun at our family reunions at Lakeshore in Tennessee.She was so cute with her natural curls. One time, Darlyn fell in the Lake and my Mother saved her.Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers and those of the entire Smithmier Family.
