David C. Rabehl, age 80, of Fox Lake, Died on Friday June 14, 2013 at the Hospice Home of Hope, in Fond du Lac.
Visitation for David will be on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at St. John”s Ev. Lutheran Church in Fox Lake from 9 AM till 11 AM. The funeral will follow at St. John”s at 11AM with Rev. David A. Nottling officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery Fox Lake, with military graveside services conducted by the Fox Lake American Legion Post#521.
David Carl Rabehl was born January 6, 1933 in Fox Lake, the son of Harley and Margaret (Paul) Rabehl. On January 31, 1959, he was united in marriage to Shirley Hughes at St. Mary”s Catholic Church in Fox Lake.
David is a 1951 graduate of the Fox Lake High School, and played Rock River League Baseball and was later entered into the Rock River League Hall of Fame. He then entered the US Army and served in Germany for 2 years. He returned to the United States and worked as a US Forestry Dept, Fire Fighter and then later returned to Fox Lake. He worked at Green Giant for 39 years and was a lifetime member of St. John”s Ev. Lutheran Church in Fox Lake. He also is a member of the Fox Lake American Legion Post#521. He enjoyed camping at Duck Creek Campground for over 20 years and made that his second home during the summer. He was also an avid sports fan.
He is survived by his Three children, Diane Rabehl of Mayville, Kevin Rabehl of Beaver Dam, and Brian Rabehl of Fox Lake. Five Grandchildren,Natasha (Eric) Mensen, Jordan (Ashley) Rabehl, Melanie Rabehl,Trevor (Kayla) Rabehl, and Curtis Rabehl. Five great grandchildren, Dominic and Logan Schettle and Markus, Jayden and Mariah Rabehl. Two sisters, Beverly Walker and Joyce (Herbert) Radke of Fox Lake. Three brothers, Roger of Las Vegas, Steve (Jan) Fox Lake and Keith (Sharon) Beaver Dam. Three sisters-in-law, Bridget Haima of Waupun, Joan Rabehl of West Allis, and Sally Hughes of Beaver Dam. Brother-in-law, William (Larene) Hughes of Fox Lake. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
David is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Shirley on March 9, 2005, Daughter-in-law, Brenda Rabehl on October 29, 2012 and his brother Donald.
Memorials to the family are suggested.
