David Wyland

David J. “Lucky” Wyland, age 76, of Janesville, formerly of Beaver Dam, died Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Agrace Center for Hospice and Palliative Care in Janesville. A memorial gathering will be held at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Saturday, June 30, 2018 from 12:00 noon to 1:30 pm. A memorial service will follow at the funeral home on Saturday at 1:30 pm with John R. Leiting as celebrant. Inurnment will be at St. Peter Cemetery in Beaver Dam. David Joseph Wyland was born on January 8, 1942 in Pittsburg, PA to the late James W. and Elsie E. Wyland. After serving in the United States Army, Dave attended college. On September 9, 1967, he was united in marriage with the love of his life, Janice Kernats. Dave worked for Case Corp. in Racine until he retired in 1999. He always had a passion for motorcycles and rode his entire life. That said, he absolutely loved his wife, children and grandchildren and never really recovered from his wife’s death in 2010; they are now reunited. Survivors include his two daughters, Christina (Shane) McOwen of Madison and Cathleen (Bill) Borskie of Lake Geneva; four grandchildren, Ethan and Brooklyn McOwen, and Ellie and Lilly Borskie; a brother and two sisters, James Wyland of Atlanta, GA, Joy (Al) Ellis of Eustis, FL, and Dede (Don Walters) Wyland of Silver Spring MD; other relatives and friends. Dave was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
