Dolores A. Knaus, age 82, of Mayville passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at the St Francis Home in Fond du Lac.Dolores was born the daughter of Arnold and Loretta (Feldner) Simon on January 6, 1936 in Mount Calvary. She attended Holy Cross in Mount Calvary and graduated from St. Mary Springs High School In 1954. She was united in marriage to James Knaus on May 12, 1956 at Holy Cross Church in Mount Calvary. Dolores, along with her husband James, owned and operated the family cheese business Weyauwega Star Dairy, in Weyauwega WI. Family was important to Dolores as she raised 5 boys and helped with the family farm. She was an active member at St. Andrew Catholic Church in LeRoy WI and was a past organist for the parish. Dolores was also a past member of the Christian Mothers. In her spare time, Dolores enjoyed playing cards and spending time with family. Dolores is survived by her husband James of Mayville. Her sons Daniel (Theresa) Knaus of Rosendale, Michael (Laurie) Knaus of Weyauwega, Mark Knaus of Weyauwega (Kathy Lawrence of West Bend), Stephen (Renee) Knaus of Sun Prairie, Gerard (Terri) Knaus of Weyauwega. Her grandchildren-Frank (Kendra) Knaus, Cecilia Knaus (fiancé Michael Marx), Jamie (Karl) Keach, Amanda Knaus, Nichole (Jeff) Jesberger, Jason (Erica) Knaus, Chad Knaus (fiancé Cassandra Miller), and Tara (Christopher) Nesbit. Her great grandchildren- Ezekiel ‘Zeke’, Emmie, Max, Claire, Jerad, Deklan, and Owen. Her bother Joe (Pat) Simon of Mount Calvary. Her sister Mary (Doug) Viegut of Kaukauna. Her sister in laws-Serena Quackenbus of Fond du lac. Helen Olig of New Holstein, Anna May Schwartz of Chilton, and Carol Schneider of Fond du Lac.She was preceded in death by her parents, her 2 daughters in infancy Paula Marie and Judith Ann, her brother Arland and sister Regenia. Her sisters and brother in laws- Zelda (Jim) Blonigan, Rosie (Fricky) Klinzing, Virginia (Vince) Demshar, Martina (Don) Steffes, Roman Quackenbus, Irwin Olig, Florian Schwartz, Leo Schneider, and Bernice (Francis) Schaefer. A visitation will take place on Wednesday, February 7th from 4 until 8pm at St. Andrews Catholic Church in LeRoy, a luncheon will be served from 4 to 9pm at Wisco Supper Club in LeRoy, for anyone attending this visitation. Visitation on Thursday February 8th from 12pm until time of mass. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 2pm at St. Andrew Catholic Church in LeRoy with Rev. Fr. Tom Biersack and Rev. Fr. Larry Abler presiding. Burial will take place at St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery following the Mass and a luncheon will follow at the church hall. Special thanks to the staff at the St. Francis Home in Fond du Lac and especially to Fr. Larry Abler, Fr. Adrian and Sister Marianna for all of their support and care shown to Dolores and her family during her time there.
