Donald “Doc” Booth, age 88, of Beaver Dam, died on Saturday, February 14, 2009, at UW Hospital in Madison, surrounded by his loving family.
The visitation will be on Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and on Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at St. Katharine Drexel Church, 127 W. Maple Ave., in Beaver Dam from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Wednesday at the Church with Fr. John Schreiter officiating. Cremation will follow with inurnment at St. Michael”s Cemetery, Town of Beaver Dam, Dodge County, Wisconsin.
J. Donald Booth, was born on February 1, 1921 in New Butler, Wisconsin to Jasper A. and Mary Jane (Falk) Booth. Donald worked on various farms prior to joining the Coast Guard in 1942. He served in the service during WWII and was honorably discharged in 1945. After the service, he worked with his father painting barns in the area. On August 16, 1947, he was united in marriage with Geraldine C. Noe in Richwood. Donald worked as an assembler and spot welder for 35 years for John Deere. He was a IAM Machinist Union Member, a lifetime member of VFW Post #1163 and Knights of Columbus, 3rd Degree member, Council 1837.
Donald is survived by his wife, Geraldine Booth, Beaver Dam, children, Donald (Gail) Booth, Beaver Dam, Joan (Don) Woods, Beaver Dam, Catherine Weinberger, Springbrook, Laurie (Bob) Whitrock, Beaver Dam, and Diane (fiancAC., Jeff Rennhack) Thompson, Reeseville, 11 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, sister, Mary Purtell, Hartford, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two infant grandchildren, Amber Marie and Joseph John Woods, three brothers, three sisters, and numerous other special relatives.
The family suggests that memorials be made in Donald”s name to St. Katharine Drexel Parish, 131 W. Maple Ave., Beaver Dam, WI, 53916. They would also like to thank Neil Brauner, RN at UW Hospital in Madison for his compassionate Care.
