Doris M. Guptill, age 85, died Wednesday, January 27, 2010 in Beaver Dam.
Visitation for Dori will be at St. Mark”s Episcopal Church in Beaver Dam on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Funeral services will follow at church on Wednesday, beginning at 2:00 PM. Rev. Mary J. Mail will officiate. Burial will be at St. Patrick”s Cemetery in the Town of Beaver Dam, Dodge County, Wisconsin.
The former Doris Marie Theisen was born on August 9, 1924 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to the late Henry and Helen (Fields) Theisen. She was a 1942 graduate of Beaver Dam High School. Dori worked at Monarch during World War II and then at Weyenberg Shoe Factory for many years. On February 7, 1989, she was united in marriage with Russell Guptill at St. Mark”s Episcopal Church in Beaver Dam. She loved to bowl and bowled in area leagues for many years. Dori also enjoyed dancing, doing fancy work and watching the Green Bay Packers. She was a member of St. Mark”s Episcopal Church in Beaver Dam where she was active with the Ladies Aid.
Survivors include her son, Todd (Gloria) Crouch of Sonora, CA; a granddaughter, Jessica Wise; three great grandchildren; seven step children, Candyce (John) Tyler of Sheboygan, Terri (Ken) Applekamp of Meeme, Roxanne (Roger) Sonneman of Sheboygan, Kim (Craig) Conklin of Sheboygan Falls, Russ (Cheryl) Guptill of Oshkosh, Scott Guptill of Sheboygan, and Penny Guptill (Annette Salm) of Appleton; 13 step grandchildren; 10 step great grandchildren; a nephew, Donald Wilcox; four brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mildred (Gene) Wackett of Oregon, Ronald Guptill of Reeseville, Donna (Edwin) Freber of Fall River, and Alvin Guptill of King; other relatives and friends. Dori was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Russell on January 4, 2010, and her sister, Lucille Szada.
The family suggests that memorials be made in Doris M. Guptill”s name to St. Mark”s Episcopal Church, 700 E. Mill St., Beaver Dam, WI 53916.
