Dorothy A. Italiano, age 87, of Beaver Dam, died Sunday, December 25, 2011 at her home.
Visitation for Dorothy will be at the Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Thursday, December 29, 2011 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. A Prayer Service will follow at the funeral home on Thursday at 7:00 PM. There will also be a visitation at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 511 S. Spring Street in Beaver Dam, on Friday, December 30, 2011 from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at the church on Friday at 11:00 AM with Fr. Michael L. Wild officiating. Burial will be at St. Michael”s Cemetery in Beaver Dam.
Dorothy was born on June 7, 1924, in Cherokee, Iowa, the daughter of Edward and Rose Thiel. Dorothy was a graduate of Beaver Dam High School. She was united in marriage with John Italiano in Beaver Dam. She had many different jobs and retired from Fletcher Oil. Over the years, Dorothy was very active in several leadership positions at her church, St. Michael”s, and now was a member of St. Katharine Drexel. She was a blood donor for many years and has given several gallons of blood. Dorothy enjoyed bowling for many years and loved playing BINGO but her real love was her family.
Dorothy is survived by her three daughters, eight grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren: Rochelle (Lester) Pufahl and their children, Dawn (Eric) Orfield of Green Bay and Derek (Jenny) Pufahl of Beaver Dam and their children: Lauren, Paige and Noah Orfield and Dillon and Mackenzie Pufahl; Judy Italiano and her children Michelle (Scott) Davies of Charlotte, North Carolina; Wendy (Chris) Meier of Beaver Dam, Heather (Curtis) Broome of Oakland, California; and Nina (Tony) Thomas of Beaver Dam and their children; Nina and Stuart Davies, Morgan and Easton Meier, and Tia and Logan Thomas; Mary Jo (Warren) Kuenzi and their children: Kelli (Christian) McDonald of St. Louis, Missouri; and Christopher (Kelly) Kuenzi of Beaver Dam and their children; Julia, Evie, and Claire McDonald and Maddie and Carter Kuenzi.
Dorothy is further survived by four sisters, Lorna Starks of Lake Bay, Washington; Ruth Hoeft of Minnesota Junction, Wisconsin; Janet Clark of Naples, Florida; and Susan (James) Rank of Cambridge, Wisconsin.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband John in 1987; two sisters: Gladys Wheeler and Mary Leonhard; five brothers; Francis, Ralph, Donald, Raymond and Leroy; and a great grandson, Cal Meier.
