Dorothy F. McMillan, age 87, of Beaver Dam, died peacefully on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at the Beaver Dam Community Hospital surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Visitation for Dorothy will be at the Murray Funeral Home on Friday, April 1, 2011 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 511 S. Spring Street in Beaver Dam, on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 11:00 AM. Fr. P. Selvin Garcia Interiano will officiate. Burial will be at St. Patrick”s Cemetery in the Town of Beaver Dam, Dodge County, Wisconsin.
The former Dorothy Frances Dillman was born on October 10, 1923 in Randolph, Wisconsin to the late Fred and Frances (Heidt) Dillman. She graduated from Randolph High School in 1941. On November 22, 1947, Dorothy was united in marriage with James C. McMillan. She was a member of the Beaver Dam VFW Ladies Auxiliary, the Beaver Dam American Legion Auxiliary, and the Marine Corps League Auxiliary. Dorothy was proud to be an American and was supportive of our troops. She was a talented homemaker, having a green thumb for her plants and baking for all of her friends. Dorothy was a loving wife and devoted mother. She loved her Packers and was a fan of all the Wisconsin sports teams. Dorothy was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish.
Survivors include her five children, Gregory (Audrey) McMillan of Beaver Dam, Christine (William) Robbins of Madison, Michael “Mac” (Cheryl) McMillan of Randolph, James McMillan (Holly Miller) of Beaver Dam, and Angela (Randy) Howard of Orlando, FL; seven grandchildren, Eric, Jonathan, and Aaron Robbins, Gregory McMillan, Jr. (Kari Hafemeister), Megan McMillan (Sam Smith), Sara Howard, and Conner Howard; great grandchildren, Mason and Sadie; two sisters, Marie Chapman and LaRaine Chapman (Pete Schultz); her beloved dog, Toby; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her infant sister, Angela Dillman.
