Dorothy J. Ralph, age 79, of Horicon, died Monday, April 27, 2009 at St. Luke”s Medical Center in Milwaukee surrounded by her family.

Visitation for Dorothy will be at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Horicon on Thursday, April 30, 2009 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Funeral services will follow at church on Thursday, beginning at 6:00 PM with Rev. Mark Hasty officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Prairie du Chien on Friday, May 1, 2009 at 11:30 AM.

The former Dorothy Jean Tippery was born on September 20, 1929 in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin to the late William and Mettie Mae (Benson) Tippery. She was united in marriage with Robert Linzenmeyer, who preceded her in death in 1983. She was later united in marriage with Guy Ralph, who preceded her in death in 2002. Dorothy loved being a member of Zion Ev. Lutheran Church and the VFW Auxiliary Unit #157 in Horicon. Dorothy lived in Prairie du Chien for many years where she belonged to St. Peter”s Lutheran Church and to the Eagles Club. She also played in a band at the Eagles Club call the “Ding a Lings”. Dorothy also did volunteer work and sold poppies. She enjoyed baking pies and cinnamon rolls for her son Bill. Dorothy also enjoyed fishing and hunting with the family, taking trips with friends – especially to the casino, going to the “Club”, a good cup of coffee, going out to eat, especially for her favorite foods, fried chicken and cole slaw, and having coffee with her friends at Mother”s Day Restaurant.

Survivors include her three children; Robert (Judy) Linzenmeyer of Milwaukee, William (June) Linzenmeyer of Mayville, and Sue (Dave) Pasewald of Horicon, her brother, Ray Tippery of Prairie du Chien, eight grandchildren; Bill (Diane) Linzenmeyer, Jr., Deborah Keller, Becky (Troy) Wendorff, Brian (Arrin) Linzenmeyer, Ron (Kristen) Pasewald, Julie (Wade) Samplawski, Amy (Chris) Pasewald, and David R. (Amanda) Pasewald, seven great grandchildren; Jacqui, Alex, Max, Nicholas, Cody, Devin, and Aaliyah, other relatives and friends. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Robert Linzenmeyer, her second husband, Guy Ralph, her granddaughter, Christina Pasewald, her great grandson, Trevor, and many brothers and sisters.

Dorothy requested that memorials be made in her granddaughter Christina Pasewald”s name to Sacred Heart Catholic Church , 950 Washington Street, Horicon, WI 53032.
