Dorothy M. Lambert, age 78, formerly of Reeseville, died on Thursday, October 9, 2008 at the Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam.
Friends may gather at the Murray Funeral Home in Reeseville on Wednesday, October 15, 2008 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. A memorial service will follow at the funeral home at 11:00 AM with Fr. Michael L. Wild officiating. The memorial gathering will continue after the service at the Reeseville Community Center. Private inurnment will take place at St. John”s Catholic Cemetery in Lowell, Wisconsin.
Dorothy Marie Pickhardt was born on January 21, 1930, to the late Richard and Mary (Brodkorb) Pickhardt. On June 1, 1948, she was united in marriage with Frederick Lambert in Reeseville. Dorothy, in addition to keeping a lovely home, kept busy crocheting afghans, gardening, caning chairs, and knitting for her children and grandchildren. She took daily walks with her husband Fred and they built three houses together from scratch. She loved to cook holiday meals for family gatherings, and had time for poker now and then. Dorothy found joy in the simple things in life.
Surviving are her husband Fred Lambert, Beaver Dam, daughters, Marilyn (Gary) McNabb, Eugene, OR, Susan (Peter) Flanders, Watsonville, CA, and a son Robert (Bridgette) Lambert, Anacortes, WA, six grandchildren, Grace McNabb, Casey McNabb, Emily Flanders, Alan Flanders, Claire Lambert, and Michael Lambert, two great grandchildren, a sister, Lucille (Tom) Dallmann, Wauwatosa, and two brothers, Richard Pickhardt, Waterloo, and Charles (Barb) Pickhardt, Madison. She was preceded in death by her son, Edward and two sisters, Evelyn Hensler and Gertrude Yerges.
The family suggests that memorials be made in Dorothy”s name to the Alzheimer”s Association.
