I am so grateful for Uncle Ed and wonderful times our families spent together during summer visits in Horicon. Uncle Ed remained calm, loving, and cheerful during those chaotic and wonderful family reunions! So grateful for love of family and experiences that bind us together. xxoo

Dear Knop Family, Please accept our deepest sympathies. There are many lives that Ed has touched and many mourn our earthly loss. Heaven rejoices and celebrates the return of one of God's children through the calling of the Holy Spirit that was truly recognized in Ed's life. It was always a treat for me to talk with Ed and learn of the many interesting events and the people in Horicon's past. He could bring life into that information better than any recorded document. I and others that I know were of a mind that Ed would always be available if anyone needed help. He was a kind of man that was known as "a fellow well met". We are sad for our temporary loss but we celebrate the return of one of God's children called to his real home by his Savior Jesus. This brings to mind what Paul wrote in2 Timothy 4:7-8 "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that dayand not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing." The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. ~ Numbers 6: 24-26

I am a retired CW4 of the U. S. Army, and Ed was the person responsible for my military career. When I went to work for him at the Hardware Store he said anyone one that works for me joins the Army Reserve. The rest is history with 34 years of Army. I will sadly miss him and remember all of the fond memories of our times together. He was a great individual who always put forth all of his effort with passion in anything he under took. Rest in Peace ED.

I consider Ed one of Horicon's exemplar citizens. I remember him as a trusty mailman. I sang with Ed in an ecumenical choir at the Methodist Church. Ed's American Legion and veteran background was helpful to me in my Civil War veterans restoration project at old St. Malachy Cemetery. Celebrate Ed's life in Christ well. Well done Ed, faithful servant!
