Edward N. Hahn, age 79, of Reeseville, died Friday, May 28, 2010 from injuries sustained in a traffic accident while getting his mail.

Visitation for Ed will be at the Reeseville Community Center, 406 N. Main Street, on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and at church on Thursday from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church on CTR “I” south of Reeseville on Thursday, June 3, 2010 at 1:00 PM. Rev. Matthew Martin will officiate. Inurnment will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.

Edward Nels Hahn was born on March 20, 1931 at home in the Town of Lowell, Dodge County, Wisconsin. He graduated from Reeseville High School with the Class of 1948. On October 9, 1954, he was united in marriage with Bonnie J. Clark at Trinity Lutheran Church. Ed farmed with his father on the family farm for many years. Later, he drove bus and worked as a security guard at River Bend Resort. In his retirement, Ed raised chickens and he enjoyed not only the eggs, but the chickens, too. He also liked to garden, read, cook, hunt, and drive his Kawasaki Mule around the farm with his wife Bonnie and their dog. Ed was a life-long member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he served various positions on the church council and was superintendant of their Sunday School for over 30 years.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Hahn of Reeseville; four children, Randy Hahn of Reeseville, Ross Hahn of Wyocena, Sabrina (Robert) Bolen of Reeseville, and Reed (Christine) Hahn of Waterloo; eleven grandchildren, Dan, Melissa, Courtney, Ricky, Megan, Alicia, Adam, Brian, Zack, Anthony, and Derek; five great grandchildren, Chloey, Alexis, Joseph, Katelyn, and Landyn; two brothers, LeRoy “Bub” Hahn of Arizona and Harlan (Pat) Hahn of Hustisford; his sister, Violet Wilson of Reeseville; six sisters-in-law, Carol Clark of Reeseville, Alene (Lee) Reinhard of Colorado, Anna (Harold) Else of Arbor Vitae, Tessie (Chuck) Schaller of Arbor Vitae, Janice (Marvin) Borth of Mercer, and Sarah (Elmer) Graveen of Lac du Flambeau; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ed was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Rivard Hahn and Delvin Hahn.

The family suggests that memorials be made in Edward Hahn”s name to Trinity Lutheran Church, N2296 CTH “I” Reeseville, WI 53579, or to your charity of choice.

Alice was a participant in the Y Health Back/Joint Effort Class. I have been an Leader of the class for the past five years and will always remember her beautiful smile and willingness to participate. Alice recently shared with me how much attending the class had helped her and was going to write a little story about her journey of coming to the Y and what the water classes had done for her in easing her movements. To Bonnie and all of Ed''s family. You have our sympathy for having lost your husband and Father. When we saw the picture of the accident in our paper on Friday, May 29, we reconized the woods by the road, along your farm and when it said a 79 year old man, but didn''t ID who it was, we thought it might be your Ed Hahn. Ed and I were a part of the 13 graduates in the Class of 48 and the last class to graduate from the Old Reeseville High School. Now there are very few of our class still living and we can Thank The Lord every day that we are still here. Ed was always a great friend in school, but we lost contact with each other since then. We wish you and your family the best of things and that the Lord will Bless Ed''s soul in Heaven.

Bonnie~ Randy~ Ross~ Sabrina~& Reed, The term "Sorry for your loss" will be shared with you a bunch of times, but there will be a million wonderful things so many people will say about "Eddie Hahn" your husband & Dad. Keep those memories close to your heart. The word that comes to my mind is "Special". To his jobs, to his church, to the land he called home, but most of all to you his family. Eddie was a hard working farmer, working his land to make sure his family was well taken care of, he loved you all dearly and if others ever got the chance to sit at the family table you know what I am talking about, Eddie, he was Special" I will miss your laughter and your presence at the farm. So sorry to hear about Ed''s death. He was a great guy who will be missed!! Never forget he drove the forensics bus to all the different tournaments, including one to Delavan-Darien HS in which the fog was so thick, I said we should turn back, but Ed said he would get us there safe and sound, and HE DID!! Ed was also a great father figure to four of the most wonderful students I had the privilege of teaching!! Wish all my students could have been like those four, and I am sure that Ed being a great father figure that he was had a lot to do with it!!

Bonnie and family, I was sorry to hear about the loss of Ed. No matter how long it was between my visits home, Ed always knew who I was and had something to say to me. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Ed will be missed.
