Edward R. Quandt, age 83, of Lomira, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Hope Health and Rehabilitation in Lomira.A memorial service for Ed will take place on Saturday, October3, 2015 at 3 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lomira with the Rev. Matthew Kiecker officiating. A visitation will take place on Saturday, October 3, 2015 from 2 – 3 p.m. at the church. Inurnment will take place at Union Cemetery in Theresa.Edward was born on June 25, 1932 the son of Reinhard L. and Lillian (Bernitt) Quandt in Fond du Lac. He was a 1950 graduate of Mayville High School and a 1954 graduate of UW-Madison. He was a veteran of the US Army ROTC where he was a 1st lieutenant from 1954-1956. He was united in marriage to Bette J. Coulter on October 18, 1969 at United Christian Church in Campbellsport. He was an accountant for Amity Leather for 37 years until his retirement. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran in Lomira. In his spare time Ed enjoyed WWII history, hiking, cross country skiing, and Wisconsin athletics. Ed also loved to travel with his wife and his nieces and nephews.Ed is survived by his wife of 45 years Bette of Lomira. His Nieces- Susan Riebe and Janice Loosley. His nephews- Thomas (LouAnn) Riebe and Louis (Debra) Riebe. Further survived by great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Walter B. (Rose) Quandt, his sisters- Ora L. Quandt, Una C. (Delmar) Boeder and Lela A. (Lenard) Riebe, nephew Robert Quandt, and niece Barbara Riebe.Memorials may be directed to St. John’s Lutheran Church Building Fund in Lomira or the charity of one’s choice.
