My grandma was the type of good natured, warm and welcoming person that made me think that this is how all grandmas were until later in life when the realization set in that I was just very fortunate to be in a great family and have an amazing grandma. She will be dearly missed by many.

To Michelle and the whole family, What a wonderful, calming, loving and good hearted woman your Mother was! I can not even count the number of times we all landed in your family room on Lakeshore Drive. She always welcomed all the friends who came and would always say it was ok if I ate a few of your Dad''s pickled mushrooms! It was never Christmas until I came over and saw the beautiful tree and gifts. (Trip would always say your house and ours had a competion for most gifts under the tree!) I will always remember your Mom hosting a wonderful wedding shower for us at the house too. That house as well as the one in the country were always filled with goodwill and furry friends. Your Mom was the first person I ever knew who made a wonderful perch for the kitty up behing the TV with the heating pad on low for her comfort in her later years. I remember Frieda when she was joined by Cammy. Your Mom truly gave her more good years with the new and frisky pup! I remember so much about your Mom...her wonderful Christmas cards that folded out into ornaments, her beautiful handwriting, her appreciation of keeping up with me and my family. The last time I saw your Mom was when I came to see her the day before Trip''s funeral. Her heart was so sad, but her grace and welcoming nature was the same as always. She was a fine woman, and I don''t think it will be long before Heaven has a Humane Society for any animal that needs a little love. She and Trip will see to it! Hugs to you as you say goodbye.
