Elaine T. Geschke

Elaine Theresa Geschke, age 84, of Mayville, returned to her heavenly home on Friday, January 18 at Hope Health & Rehabilitation Center in Lomira.A Mass of Christian Burial will be on January 24, at St. Andrew Catholic Church in LeRoy with the Rev. Fr. Tom Biersack presiding. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 23 from 3-7 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in LeRoy and again on Thursday January 24 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 12:00. A luncheon will follow the Mass. Entombment will take place at the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum in Fond Du Lac.Elaine was born April 30, 1934 in LeRoy, WI to Rudolph and Irene (Rost) Sternat. Elaine married the love of her life, Gilbert Geschke on June 2, 1951 at St. Andrews Church in Leroy, WI. She was raised on the family farm outside of LeRoy, where she learned all aspects of farming as well as gardening. After marriage, Elaine and Gibby lived in Theresa with 5 of the first children until later purchasing her family’s farm in 1957 where they remained for 46 years. She enjoyed playing softball, bowling, polka dancing, playing cards, cooking and baking.Other than raising her 14 children, later in life she took outside employment at a local bakery, the canning factory as well as Affiliated Products in Mayville.Survivors include, her 13 children, Larry, Colorado Springs, CO, Parry, Mayville, Greg, Campbellsport, Victoria Liebenow, (Larry), Mayville, Sheila Schultz, (Mark) Waupun, Kristine Hoerth, (Todd), Oconomowoc, Mark, (Patricia), Mayville, Terese Schroeder, (Bob) Mayville, Donna, Mayville, Lee, (special friend Cathy), Mayville, Mary Billings, (Ron), Theresa, Renee Junod, Mayville, Lisa Jameson, (Tim) of Madison.31 grandchildren; Jeremy, Hope, Tim, Heather, Heidi, Ryan, Holly, Matthew, Mason, Chad, Eric, Scott, Nicole, Jason, Dawn, Michael, Travis, Mario, Tyler, Cody, Kayla, Dustin, Eliott, Devin, Cassidy, Devin, Derrick, Brett, Morgan, Nathan & Austin.45 great grandchildren; Aliccia, Marisa, Echo, Rider, Hailyn, Kodi, Sadie, Anthony, Jacob, Jayden, Johnny, Marcos, Carlos, Shyanne, Lilyana, Aryana. Kayli, Nathan, Isaiah, Helayna, Julian, Tanner, Aspen, Greyden, Kellen, Kianna, Deacon, Tristen, Colorado, Tyler, Justice, Shelby, Jakob, Keegan, Gracelyn, Alyson, Gage, Hunter, Logan, Caden, Makenna, Amber, Arianna, Dreyson, Aubrey and Ella.7 great-great grandchildren; Aihanna, Alexavier, Apollo, Jessiah, Kyrie, Jouscia, Maison.She is further survived by her siblings Eunice Krivonak and Jerome Sternat and sister-in-laws Mary Jane Sternat, Patty Sternat, Caroline Sternat, Darlene Sternat, Marge Geschke and Sherrie Geschke.Elaine was preceded in death by her beloved husband Gibby; her parents Rudolf and Irene (Rost) Sternat; her in-laws, Harry and Leona (Wendegatz) Geschke; her son, Jeffrey; an infant great-granddaughter Macy; her brothers, Merlin, Rudy Jr., Earl, Arnold, Norbert and Ed Krivonak. Her brother-in-laws Harry Geschke Jr., Waldemar Geschke, Ray Geschke and Charlie Geschke. Her sister-in-laws, Rosalind Geschke, Patricia Schneider, Gladys Sternat and Madeline Sternat.
