Elda M. Rhode

Elda M. Rhode, age 84, of Reeseville, died Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Columbus Community Hospital.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at 6:00 PM at the United Church of Christ in Reeseville. Reverend Lois A. Rosko will officiate. Following the service, everyone is invited to gather in the church hall for an opportunity to greet the family and for a luncheon.

The former Elda Mae Link was born on February 8, 1926 in rural Reeseville, Wisconsin to the late Gustave and Ella (Soldner) Link. On February 20, 1946, she was united in marriage with Jerome C. Rhode in Beaver Dam. He preceded her in death in 1992. Elda was a life-long Reeseville area resident and was a member of the United Church of Christ in Reeseville. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking and crossword puzzles. One of Elda”s greatest joys was playing and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her five children, Peggy White of Reeseville, Mike (Linda) Rhode of Lebanon, Christine Rhode, Steve (Shelly) Rhode, and James (Tammy) Rhode, all of Reeseville; 16 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Lora Rhode of Kirksville, MO; other relatives and friends. Elda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, Charles Rhode and Douglas Rhode, and a brother, Herbert Link.
