Eleanor C. Barritt

Eleanor C. Barritt, 98, of Horicon, WI passed away on Monday, January 18, 2016 at Clearview in Juneau.As per Mrs. Barritt’s request no service will be held and inurnment will take place at a later date.Eleanor was born on August 1, 1917 in Sullivan, Wisconsin the daughter of Gustav and Minnie (Lehnhoff) Zautner. She was united in marriage on May 9, 1974 in Milwaukee to Wayne Barritt. She was a faithful member of St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville. She had a love of travel and enjoyed seeing what the world had to offer. She will also be fondly remembered by her family as a great storyteller and wonderful aunt. Eleanor is survived by a sister in law- Ruth Zautner of Oconomowoc. 3 nephews- Greg Zautner of Milwaukee, Jon Zautner of Sullivan, Jeff (Cathy) Zautner of North Carolina. Her niece- Debra (Darrin) Arndt in Oconomowoc. 1 great nephew Michael Zautner of North Carolina. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Wayne, and 2 brothers- Harold and Arthur.

I was saddened to learn of Elly's passing, we had lost touch, but I thought of her often. Elly was a bridesmaid for me and we were best friends at work. My late husband and I would often go to the theatre or dinner with Elly. I would very much appreciate it if someone from the family could contact me to let me know about Elly's last years. Eleanor was such a dear lady, especially when she was still able to come to church. Boy, when her and Sis Finke came together it was like 2 tiny firecrackers... I will always miss my ladies from church. Barbara Haessly (St. John's Church Secretary)
