Elizabeth F. ‘Betty’ Bussian, 89, of Columbus passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2013 at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg.
Elizabeth Francis was born the daughter of John Emmett and Mildred (Murty) Brunker on January 17, 1924 in Dodgeville, WI. She was married to Howard Bussian on October 10, 1946 in Madison and together they farmed in the Township of Leeds, Columbia County and then in the Township of York, Dane County where they raised their six children.
Betty enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought much joy to her life. She also enjoyed baking pies and cookies for her family, flower gardening, feeding and watching birds at her backyard feeders and watching the Brewers and Badger Men’s Basketball. Betty was a member of Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Columbus.
Betty is survived by her children: Jean Bussian, Doug (Erin) Bussian, Rick (Laurie) Bussian, and Roger (Becky) Bussian; her grandchildren; Dawn (Tim) Huber and their sons: Tegan and Hayden, Brian Bussian, Matthew (Elise) Kleinheinz and their children: Peyton, Brady and Ella, Meagan Kleinheinz, Deanna (Richie) Herrick and their daughter, Andrea, Amber Bussian, Mark Bussian, Nathan Bussian, Andrew (Morgan) Bussian, Jaclyn (Derek) Teachout and their daughter, Riley and Sarah Bussian; her sisters: Kathryn McGraw of Dodgeville and Mary Larson of Madison; her special cousin, Dorothy Meudt of Dodgeville; and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Howard in 2000, her daughter Susan Kleinheinz in 2004, her son Roland in 2007 and her brothers: Ray and Bob Brunker.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Columbus with the Rev. Daniel Sims officiating. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Koepsell-Zeidler Funeral Home in Columbus, and also on Thursday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the church. Interment will take place at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Township of Leeds, WI.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Columbus or to Agrace HospiceCare in Madison.
