Dear Jim, Jim, and Jeff, Please accept my condolences and heartfelt sympathy on the loss of your wife, mom, and grandmom...She will truly be missed by one and all. She was the love of all your lives..She was such a sweet and gentle soul, and such a caring person...I am so saddened that I won''t be able to express my sympathy in person... My wishes for all of you is to sustain Bettye in your hearts, and /re-live fond memories, and in being able to view the many photo albums, she so carefully put together for all of you to be able to see. What a wonderful life all of you have been priviledged to share with such a wonderful lady...May Gods'' blessings be with all of you today, and from now on...Love, Betty Winter

Dear Mertens family: Please accept our most sincerest sympathy in the loss of Bette. I only met Bette twice, first when I visited Jim & Bette and Harry & Pat with my father (Harvey) and mother (Betty), and then at my father''s funeral. While I did not know Bette very well, I could feel the warmth of her soul and I could see how wonderful person a she was, even with the short time we were together. We hope that your memories, your love, and your faith sustain you through these hard times. We send you our love, and please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Sincerely, Anibal & Nancy Winter-Miranda

Dearest Jim and sons, We will all miss our Betty at Saint Marks. She was indeed "sweet" and "kind" - and she wore both words well. Our love and prayers are with your family.
