Visitation: Saturday, May 18th from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. also at the funeral home.
Ellery A. Klatt Sr., 94, of Juneau passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Koepsell Funeral Home, N7199 N. Crystal Lake Road, Beaver Dam with the Rev. Paul Schupmann officiating. A visitation will also be held on Saturday, May 18th from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. also at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam. Graveside Military Honors will be conducted by the Beaver Dam American Legion Post # 146.
Ellery was born on March 27, 1919 in Marquette, WI the son of Herman and Hulda (Born) Klatt. He graduated from Markesan High School in 1936, he worked in Milwaukee until he was drafted into the Army receiving the Purple Heart while serving in Infantry during WWII.
He married Arvilla Leannah on November 2, 1940. They farmed in Marquette County for several years and then began farming in 1964 in Dodge County. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Juneau. Ellery was an avid follower of current events until his death. He was also known for his woodworking hobby and gardening skills in retirement.
Ellery is survived by his son, Ellery (Valerie) Klatt Jr. of Juneau; two daughters: Arlene (Joseph) Bauer of Oak Lawn, IL and Sandra Ebert of Beaver Dam; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, one great great grandson, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Arvilla in 2003; son-in-law James Ebert; granddaughter Julie Bauer, two sisters: Vivian Hall and Verona Reed and one brother Russell Klatt.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the charity of one’s choice.
