Elroy A. Kamrath, age 84, died on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at his home in Horicon surrounded by his family.
The visitation will be at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Horicon on Monday, July 2, 2012 from 9:30 AM until 10:45 AM. The funeral service will follow at the church on Monday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jonathan Szczesny officiating. Burial will follow at Oakhill Cemetery in Horicon with military honors provided by the Horicon American Legion Post #157.
Elroy August Kamrath was born on April 25, 1928 in Dodge County, Wisconsin to August and Viola (Giese) Kamrath. He was a 1946 graduate of Horicon High School. Elroy served in the Marine Corp until his honorable discharge in 1948. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and liked to play baseball and basketball. Other pastimes included bowling and his all-time favorite was playing Super Cash. Elroy also enjoyed his trips to Vegas.
Survivors are his children, Randy (Carol) Kamrath of Beaver Dam, Cindy Kamrath of Horicon, Patti (Rob) Jacobs of Freeport, IL, and Stanley Kamrath of Fox Lake; grandchildren, Francesca and Selena, Alicia (Chris) Metzger, Mario Martinez, Michael Jacobs and Ashley Kamrath; four great grandchildren; brothers, Orville (Arlene) Kamrath and Delmar (Lois) Schmidt, both of Horicon; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-father, Arnold Schmidt; and his sister, Lavern Gremler.
