Emma Mary Weisensel, 97, of Chandler Arizona, formerly of Reeseville Wisconsin, passed away on May 3, 2013.
Emma was born in Waterloo, WI on March 21, 1916 to Camiel & Euphrasia (Calus) DePover.
Emma was married to Marcellus A. Weisensel on April 14, 1942; they were married for 37 years. Together they ran a 93 acre dairy farm south of Reeseville until their retirement in the mid 1970”s. Emma was always proud to say that she was a farm wife from Wisconsin and would share stories with her friends at her assisted living facility in Arizona. Emma also enjoyed gardening and embroidery to pass the time. She was a member of Holy Family Alter Society for many years and was always in charge of making the potato salad for the parish fish frys in her younger years.
Emma is survived by one brother, Albert DePover of Beaver Dam, her daughter Marion (Andrew) Meitner of Gilbert, AZ, grandson Darrell (Kristen) Mintzlaff of Burnett, granddaughters Teresa (Michael) Lynch of Sun Prairie, Catherine (Jeffrey) Meyers of Gilbert, AZ, Mary (Raymond) Thomson of Sun Prairie, six great-grandchildren, Tyler Mintzlaff, Austyn and Gavyn Lynch, Alaina and Alexa Meyers, Emma Rae Thomson, and other nieces and nephews.
Emma is preceded in death by her spouse Marcy, parents and three brothers, Louis, Joseph and Arthur DePover.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church in Reeseville on Friday, May 10 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Rick Wendell officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the mass starting at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be at St John”s Cemetery in Lowell. A reception will follow the burial in the Holy Family church basement.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Oasis Hospice for their care and comfort during the last few weeks of Emma”s life. Also thank you to the staff at Pennington Gardens Assisted Living for their kindness and care of Emma over the past 6 years.
