Erna M. Kuehn

Erna M. Kuehn, 100, a resident of Prairie Ridge Assisted Living in Waupun and formerly of Beaver Dam passed away on Thursday, September 06, 2018. Erna was born the daughter of Frank and Myrtie (Binder) Voigt on June 16, 1918 in the township of Calamus, Dodge Co., WI. She was married to Arthur Kuehn on October 6, 1938 at her parent’s home. Erna was employed in the coffee shop of the Hotel Rogers and later was employed with Edith’s in Beaver Dam for many years until her retirement in 1991. She was a member of St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. Grandma loved flowers and gardening and there are many memories of days spent flower shopping with family. Grandma kept the family well-fed with her fabulous cooking and baking. Her potato salad and banana chocolate chip muffins were some of our favorites. She will be missed dearly. Erna is survived by her children: Janet Yapp of Verona, Delvin Kuehn of Waupun, and Allan (Carol) Kuehn of Beaver Dam; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur in 2001; her brother, Walter Voigt; her son-in-law, Gary Yapp; her daughter-in-law, Dian Kuehn; and her grandson, Andy Kuehn. A visitation will be held at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Philip Heyer will officiate. Interment will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam. Erna’s family would like to thank both Prairie Ridge in Waupun and Heartland Hospice for all their care and support.
