Ethel M. Beers, 84, of Beaver Dam, died Saturday, June 21, 2008 at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.
A memorial gathering for Ethel will be Thursday, June 26, 2008 at the Murray Funeral Home from 9:00 AM until ll:00 AM. The memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place at Fort Howard Cemetery, in Green Bay, at a later date.
Ethel Wagner was born May 23, 1924 in St. Wendel, Wisconsin, to Joseph & Charlotte (Miley) Wagner. She married Donald L. Bark on July 7, 1942, in Manitowoc, and later married Edward “Butch” Beers on October 3, 1987 at St. Peter”s Church, in Beaver Dam. Ethel moved to Beaver Dam following Donald”s death, not knowing a soul. She quickly remedied that, and began managing the Brittany Apartments, which she did for 15 years. Before health issues intervened, she was an active member of what is now St. Katherine Drexel parish.
She is survived by her husband, Edward “Butch” Beers, Beaver Dam, her children, Sandra Janquart, Plymouth, Victoria (Gary) Lessuise, Detroit, MI, Jennifer (Dale) Menne, Green Bay, and Nancy (Jeff) Yaeager, Wausau, Step-son, Jeff (Sheila) Beers, Madison, grandchildren, David (Kelly), Brent (fiancAC.e Jill), Angela (Gabe), Jason (Mary), Eric (special friend Kattie), Adam (Amanda), and Ellen (Pete), step-grandchildren, Roxanne and Rachel, great grandchildren, Cooper, Tanner, Ben, Jack, Hudson, Mason, Decker, Chase, Brett, Riley, Haley, and Avery. She is also survived by her sisters, Eileen (Bob) Schilawski, Decatur, IL, and Dolly Rank, CA, sisters-in-law, Jean Wagner, MI, Helen Kronenburg, Marie Nast, Jean Pirk, all of Beaver Dam, and Marjorie (Jerry) Butzler, North Fond du Lac. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Don, grandson, Daniel Janquart, her brother, Clem Wagner, her sisters, Betty (Harold) Darelius, and Joan (Gordy) Scheurell, and brother-in-law, Wayne Rank.
A special thank you to the Beaver Dam Hospital emergency unit and staff for their efforts. Ethel”s daughters would especially like to thank Butch for all his love and care for their mother.
