

Flora Belle Kolterman, age 88 of Milwaukee, WI, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2018 at the Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac.Flora was born the daughter of Alvin and Frances (Hasenzahl) Kolterman on February 10, 1930 in Brownsville, WI. She attended Waupun High School and then Milwaukee State Normal Institute where she received her teaching degree. Flora taught at Lake Bluff Elementary School in Shorewood, WI. She retired after 40 years, teaching 3 generations of children. Flora displayed love for her students and a passion to provide the best education for each of them. Her love of children was also evident in her personal life. She took a special interest in her nieces, nephews and their children. Flora would often babysit; reading to them, playing games and talking about school. She remembered everyone’s birthdays and was there for graduations, weddings and other special occasions.After retirement, Flora treasured the time she spent in Mesa, AZ at the Sunset Resort Park. She was always eager to get back to that ‘warmer climate’ for the winter months. In her spare time Flora enjoyed reading, flower gardening, and nature walks.She is survived by her sister- Kathleen Bird of Mesa, AZ and her brother-Thomas Kolterman of Racine, WI. She is also survived by nieces, and nephews.Flora is preceded in death by her parents, brother Gordon Kolterman, sister Dorothy Kolterman, sisters in law Majorie (Curran) Kolterman and Delores (McGlone) Kolterman, brother in law Stanley Bird, and niece Mary Kay Kolterman.A memorial service will be held at the Oakfield United Methodist Church on July 14th, 2018.Special thanks to the staff of Agnesian Home Health Care and the Hospice Home of Hope for all of the care and support shown to Flora and her family.
