Florence E. Kovalaske, age 86, died on Thursday, November 15, 2007 at Eagles Wings, in Beaver Dam.
Friends and family may call on Sunday, November 18, 2007 at the Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a Rosary to follow. They may also gather on Monday, November 19, 2007 at St. Katharine Drexel Church, 511 South Spring Street, from 10:00 AM until the time of service. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, at the church, at 11:00 AM with Fr. Carlos Florez officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter”s Cemetery, Town of Beaver Dam, Dodge County, Wisconsin.
The former Florence Elizabeth Holbach was born on Septmeber 30, 1921, to the late Peter and Rose (Schreiner) Holbach. She was a resident of the Beaver Dam area all of her life. On April 4, 1945, she was united in marriage with Edwin Kovalaske in Waupun. Together, they had three children and owned and operated their family farm from 1945 until Edwin”s death in 1977. Florence spent more than 20 years volunteering her time to various things which include, Hillside Manor, The American Red Cross and the Beaver Dam Hospital Auxiliary. She was a longtime member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish, where she was involved with the Christian Women”s group and also was the coordinator for funeral luncheons.
Florence will be missed by her three children, Sherry (Paul) Escallier, Ridgecrest, CA, Dave (Nancy) Kovalaske, West Bend, and Steve Kovalaske, Beaver Dam, her eight grandchildren, Lynette (Sean) McManus and Jean-Paul (Lori) Escallier, Dan, Julie and Becky Kovalaske, Jamie (Laurie), Jill and Beth Kovalaske, and her three great-grandchildren, Katie, Taryn and Redd. She will also be missed by her brothers and sisters, Henry (Delores), Waupun, Rosella Frey, Roscoe, IL, Wilfred (Ida) Holbach, Burnett, Lauretta Peters, Horicon, Melvin (Mildred) Holbach, Waupun, Richard (Agnes) Holbach, Ripley, TN and Virginia (Gene) Rake, Columbus, her two sisters-in-law, Jean Holbach, Dunnellon, FL and Mildred (Harold) Schultz, Grafton, her daughter-in-law, Donna Kovalaske, Juneau, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Edwin, a grandson, Scott Kovalaske and a brother Edward Holbach.
The family suggests that memorials be made in Florence”s name to the St. Katharine Drexel School Trust Fund. The Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam is serving the family. Online condolences may be made on our website at www.MurrayFH.com.
