Frances Victoria Becker

Frances V. Becker, age 90, a life-long resident of Beaver Dam, died on June 26, 2011 in Coral Springs, Florida in the loving hands of her family and Vitas Hospice Care.

The funeral service will be at Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Friday, July 8, 2011 at 1:00 PM with Fr. John Simon officiating. Private Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam.

Frances Victoria Wapneski was born on May 12, 1921 in Beaver Dam, the daughter of Joseph and Agnes Wapneski. She married Elmer Becker on December 5, 1944 in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

Frances worked at the Shoe Factory in Beaver Dam for many years, then became a house wife and mother of two. She was an active member of St. Michael”s Catholic Church all her life, and enjoyed working with all church associated activities. This was her life”s passion. She moved to Coral Springs, FL two years ago and was taken in gracefully by her son Jerry and his family.

Survivors include her son, Jerrold (Gina) Becker of Coral Springs, FL; four grandchildren, Michael (Kim) Abfall, Kelly Wood, Daniel (Erica) Abfall, all of Beaver Dam, WI, and Samantha (SSG KC Brewer) Becker of Coral Springs, FL; four great-grandchildren that were also very dear to her heart; one sister, Marie Glizinski of Milwaukee, WI and one brother, Joseph Wapneski of Beaver Dam, WI, other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Becker on August 22, 2003 and her daughter, Mary Jo Becker on June 10, 1998 and two brothers, James and Bob Wapneski.

She will be sadly missed by her son and family. Memorials may be made in Frances V. Becker”s name for mass to honor her for all the love and dedication she gave to the Catholic Parishes of Beaver Dam.
