Visitation: Friday, July 12th from 10- 11 a.m. also at the church.
Franklin P. Trafka, 92 years of Beaver Dam went to meet his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at his home.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 12, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at First Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam with the Rev. Dr. Mark J. Molldrem officiating. A visitation will also be held on Friday, July 12th from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. also at the church. Military Honors will be conducted by the Beaver Dam American Legion Post # 146. Private family inurnment will be at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
Franklin Paul was born on May 27, 1921 the son of Franklin James and Mary Anna (Kasmiskie) Trafka in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. He was a 1940 graduate of Beaver Dam High School. On July 13, 1944, he was married to Beatrice Kraemer in the chapel at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
Frank had been employed at Monarch Range Company in Beaver Dam, retiring after 40 years of service. He was a member of First Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.
Frank proudly served his country in the United States Army as a rifleman in the combat infantry during WWII from 1942 – 1945. Frank was a prisoner of war (P.O.W.) for six months during the Battle of the Bulge in Germany. On July 1, 1955, Corporal Franklin P. Trafka received the Bronze Star Metal.
Frank is survived by his son Peter (Audrey) Trafka of Beaver Dam; his granddaughter Cody Trafka Eastley of Wauwatosa and grandson Travis Trafka of Fox Lake. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 68 years Beatrice who died on January 6, 2013, and his brother Clarence Clare Trafka.
