Frederick M. Darge, age 75, of Beaver Dam, died Saturday, September 1, 2012 at the Beaver Dam Community Hospital.
A memorial gathering will be held at the Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Saturday, September 8, 2012 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A memorial service will follow at the funeral home on Saturday beginning at 11:00 AM. Rev. Paul Stratman will officiate.
Frederick Martin Darge was born on May 2, 1937 in Mayville, Wisconsin to the late Frederick and Caroline (Gensmer) Darge. He attended school in Mayville and graduated from Mayville High School on June 3, 1955. On July 19, 1958, he was united in marriage with Sharon E. Bender at St. John”s Lutheran Church in Mayville. Fred served in both the United States Air Force and in the Air National Guard. He was employed at Mayville Engineering Company as a machinist and a supervisor for more than 30 years combined. Fred also worked at RMH Automation as a machinist and an assembler for 8 years and was the owner and operator of Midway Bar & Grill on Hwy 28 in Town of Theresa. Through the years, Fred enjoyed bowling, billiards, trapshooting, and working on cars. When time allowed, Fred would go fishing, hunting, camping, he would travel and he loved playing Sheepshead; he also liked to have a beer with his friends and family. He was a member of St. Stephen”s Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam and the American Legion in Kingston.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Darge of Beaver Dam; four children, Thomas (Suzanne) Darge of Mayville, June (Efrain) Morales of Beaver Dam, Kathy (Dean) Arndt of Mayville, and Mark (Chris) Darge of Mayville; 10 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; his brother, Dennis Darge of Mayville; other relatives and friends. Fred was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Darrell Darge.
