Gail M. Hartwig, 68, of Horicon, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on July 8, 2018 at Meriter Hospital in Madison.A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, October 11th from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church in Horicon, with a memorial service to begin at 5:30 p.m at the church. Gail was born the daughter of Merlin and Lorraine (Weber) Johns on June 19, 1950 in Horicon. She was a 1968 graduate of Horicon High School and went on to work for many years at the dentist office of Dr. John Stellpflug. On October 18, 1969 Gail was united in marriage with Gerald Hartwig at St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church in Horicon. Gail was a lifelong member of St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church in Horicon where she served as a member of the alter guild. She enjoyed golfing, going on vacation, watching all the Wisconsin sports teams, and loved to go shopping. She will be deeply missed by her husband Gerald, daughter; Nicole Freeman of Oakfield, brother; Larry (Sandra) Johns of South Carolina, sister; Brenda (James) Gibbons of Oconomowoc, and grandchildren; Cody and Amber Freeman. She is further survived by other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Gail was preceded in death by her parents. If desired, memorials may be directed to St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church in Horicon.
